About us

Our mission

Tablets and smartphones are changing the way we learn. They are intuitive and have the ability to eliminate the barriers between school and home, work and personal life, play and study. At eduPad, our mission is to provide the best educational apps compatible with most mobiles devices. Today, more than 500,000 students use our applications from Elementary to Middle School.

We also develop a cross-platform solution that enables anyone with great educational content, such as publishers, teachers and organizations, to easily publish e-learning apps without going through lengthy and expensive technology development.

eduPad was founded in 2010 by Jérôme Serre and Daniel Jasmin, two entrepreneurs and senior innovation and strategy consultants. eduPad successively raised 600K€ from ExploLab Factory, a French Internet incubator, and several business angels.

Team

Jérôme Serre (CEO)

Jerome wants learning to be fun and casual: what if we could play and learn at the same time? What if learning could happen whenever we want, wherever we want, in small chunks of few minutes each time? That’s the vision behind eduPad’s mobile apps and making that vision a reality is Jerome’s main focus.
Jerome in an engineer, and has worked on new product launches and innovation project management for multiple companies.

Mickael Floc’hlay(CTO)

Mickaël is a full-time hacker. His motto comes from Marty McFly’s “If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything”, although he slightly altered it into “If you put your code to it, you can develop any app”. Prior to eduPad, Mick was publicly pretending Java was cool, fighting against people ignoring basic typography rules and vainly trying to become an indie-rock guru.

Yvan Moullec(Project Manager)

Yvan is project manager, QA tester and game designer at eduPad. He first contributed to the gamification of iTooch and is still working on increasing the fun in the apps. Yvan has a BS in Game Design (Isart Digital, Paris). During his free time, he works on Maha Khela, a dynamic Tower Defence game allowing two players to confront each other on the same screen.

Michel Galibert(Marketing Manager)

Michel runs marketing for us at eduPad. You’ll always see him with his TI-83, calculating today’s conversion rates, and the return from the ad money he spent the day before. Prior to eduPad, Michel worked at Scalr and Google in the Business Development team. He graduated from HEC Paris Business School.

Bethany Cagnol(US Application Coordinator)

Bethany Cagnol, is an enthusiastic, in-company English language trainer and project manager in Paris. She owns two companies in France devoted to project management, consulting, brand communication, language training and language skills assessment. She enjoys developing tailored, blended learning packages for companies and/or recruiting talented trainers, translators, authors and editors to carry out major long- and short-term education-related projects.

Board

Jérôme Serre (Co-Founder)

Jerome Serre also serves on the board of directors.

Daniel Jasmin(Co-Founder)

Daniel is a passionate entrepreneur who has been in the innovation industry for 12 years now. He co-founded Explolab with Jerome, a consulting company which has brought innovation to more than 60 companies in different industries. When he founded eduPad in 2010, a few months after the public launch of the iPad, Daniel immediately understood that tablets would change the way we learn and teach. Before creating eduPad, Daniel taught physics for two years in high schools.

Stéphane Delacôte(Board Director)

Stéphane Delacôte is a former investment banker (Société Générale and BNP Paribas). He is now an administrator of the Mines ParisTech foundation and an active partner in different initiatives in education and the ethics in finance.
